Do I need to rewire my house for smart lighting?
Usually not. Many smart switches are designed to replace existing switches without any additional wiring. However, some smart switches require a neutral wire at the switch position, which older properties may not have. We assess this during a site visit and advise on the best options for your home.
Which smart home system should I choose?
This depends on what you already use. If you have an iPhone and Apple TV, HomeKit is a natural fit. Google Home and Amazon Alexa are also widely supported. We can advise on compatible products, but we are not tied to any single manufacturer.
Will smart lighting still work if the internet goes down?
If we install wired smart switches, yes. The switches continue to work as normal dimmers from the wall. You lose app and voice control until the internet returns, but the lights themselves are not affected.
