Garden lighting
Well-designed garden lighting makes outdoor spaces usable after dark and adds security to your property. We install pathway lights, uplighters, deck lighting, festoon lighting, and spotlights for trees and features.
All outdoor lighting circuits are protected by RCD and installed using IP-rated fittings appropriate for the location. We use LED fittings as standard for low running costs and long life.
Outdoor power
Weatherproof outdoor sockets are useful for garden tools, hot tubs, pond pumps, and outdoor entertaining. We install IP66-rated sockets on dedicated circuits with RCD protection, so they can be used safely in all weather conditions.
EV charger installation
A dedicated home charging point is the most convenient and cost-effective way to charge an electric vehicle. We install EV chargers from leading manufacturers, connected to a dedicated circuit with appropriate protection at the consumer unit.
Installation includes a site survey to assess your electrical supply and determine whether any upgrades are needed. Most domestic installations are straightforward and can be completed in half a day.
Garden rooms and outbuildings
If you are adding a garden office, workshop, or studio, it will need a properly installed electrical supply. We run armoured cable from your main consumer unit (or install a sub-board) to provide power, lighting, and heating circuits to your outbuilding. All work is certified and compliant with Part P Building Regulations.
Security lighting
Motion-activated floodlights and dusk-to-dawn security lights are an effective deterrent. We position and install security lighting to cover entry points, driveways, and side passages without causing light pollution to neighbours.

Outdoor electrical work varies significantly depending on the scope. A single weatherproof socket installation starts from around £150. Garden lighting schemes typically range from £300 to £1,000 depending on the number of fittings and the complexity of the layout. Frequently asked questions
Do I need Building Regulations approval for outdoor electrics?
Any new outdoor circuit is notifiable under Part P Building Regulations. As a registered electrician, we can self-certify this work, so you do not need to involve Building Control separately.
Can I run power to my shed or garden room?
Yes. We install armoured cable (SWA) from your main supply to outbuildings. This provides a permanent, safe power supply that can support lighting, sockets, and heating. The cable is buried at a minimum depth of 500mm and protected with warning tape.
Is the OZEV grant still available for EV chargers?
The OZEV grant for homeowners has ended, but grants may still be available for landlords, tenants, and residents of flats. Check the latest eligibility criteria on the government website. We can advise on your specific situation during the site survey.
